Finish rally drivers dominated by the flying Frenchman Sebastien Loeb as he takes first place in Rally Finland.
NGK sparked Citroen WRC team, lead by Sebastien Loeb, have taken yet another victory in their charge towards the World Rally Championship of 2012.Round eight set in the forests of Finland is renowned for the high speeds, yumps and jumps which are a spectacular fixture of this event which has long been a favourite of fans and drivers alike.
Loeb was pushed hard by his Finnish team mate Mikko Hirvonen throughout the rally, but the World Champion fought off the challenge, stage after stage. Jar-Matti Latvala also chased Loeb hard from the drivers seat of his Ford Focus, with team mate Petter Sollberg following. But the Ford team never seemed able to get on terms with Loeb and finished the rally in third and fourth place respectively.
With his win in Finland, Sebastien Loeb has now extended his lead to 171 points over team mate Hirvonen in second with 128 and Solberg for Ford in third on 104. And for NGK that also means another great result with the top three finishers being sparked by the world’s No.1 spark plug!
The next rally approaching fast on the horizon is Rallye Deutschland and it’s tarmac stages which will possibly favour the Citroen team again. We wait to see if Sebastien will extend his lead once or if the boys from Ford can challenge the flying Frenchman…
