Double top for NGK at CAT Magazine awards
NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd is celebrating achieving a double first at a recent awards ceremony.
The leading supplier of OE spark plugs, glow plugs and NTK Lambda sensors has been voted Supplier of the Year by readers of a top UK automotive aftermarket magazine and its Deputy Managing Director, Brian Childs, has been named Person of the Year.
Brian said: “We are delighted to have been named CAT magazine Supplier of the Year for the second successive year, especially as it was voted for by the publication’s readers, many of whom are our customers.
“I am also pleased to have received my personal award, but I believe that both are in recognition for the hard work of the whole team here at NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd. I would like to thank our customers for their support over the past year and look forward to continuing our excellent relationship with them through 2012.”
Unfortunately, Brian was unable to attend the CAT Awards ceremony at Twickenham Rugby Stadium in London, where both trophies were accepted on his behalf by Tim Ward, Deputy General Manager – Sales & Marketing, NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd, who also presented the NGK-sponsored Lifetime Achievement Award to Joe Elliott, who has enjoyed a long and illustrious career in the automotive parts retail sector.
The event also saw NGK customer ABP Motorsport of Shavington, near Crewe, named Garage of the Year for the third successive time.
NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd, which was also recently named the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation’s (IAAF) 2011 Supplier of the Year, attributes its success to its 36-year pedigree of supplying quality products and service to the UK independent automotive aftermarket.
